I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
